How?
- Air duct cleaning performed by Rivercrest Restoration includes the entire system, no just the air ducts.
- Upon arrival, all registers are carefully removed and cleaned.
- We begin by establishing Negative Air Pressure within the air duct system. Our high-powered, HEPA-filtered vacuum is then connected to the trunk line, creating a vacuum inside the air duct system. As a result, the vents will pull air instead of push air.
- We increase the suction inside the air duct system by covering the vent openings. This also helps to prevent any debris from entering the home.
- Rivercrest Restoration technicians then being cleaning the air ducts. This is accomplished by the use of a compressed air whip and nozzle, an agitation device. In some cases, if the surfaces are accessible we will vacuum or wipe by hand.
- During the agitation process, all contaminants are removed and collected into our high-powered HEPA-filtered vacuum.
- Once the agitation process is complete inside the air ducts, Rivercrest Restoration technicians will begin cleaning the trunk lines (large rectangular ducts which connect to the furnace). If the trunk lines are exposed we may need to cut access holes for the most thorough cleaning. Access holes with be properly patched or plugged, and will not adversely affect the system.
- The furnace is also cleaned - we clean all accessible surfaces inside the furnace, normally vacuuming and wiping by hand.
- Upon completion of the cleaning, the registers are replaced, patches or plugs installed and the furnace is re-assembled. Technicians will start the furnace to ensure it is working properly following the cleaning.
- Rivercrest Restoration also encourages customers have a sanitizer and mold inhibitor applied by fogging it into the air ducts, trunk lines and furnace. This is a great way to finish the cleaning project and will attack problems such as contaminants and odors. Ask a Rivercrest representative for more information.
